Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the service provided by Santiago Steps, dedicated to the transport of backpacks and luggage for pilgrims on the Portuguese Way (Coastal and Central routes).
By using our services, the client agrees to the following terms:
Service Provided

Santiago Steps offers daily transport of backpacks between accommodations, stage by stage, between Porto and Santiago de Compostela.

The luggage is collected and delivered at the locations indicated by the client.
Reservations

Reservations must be made at least by the day before the transport, preferably before 8:00 PM.

Reservation confirmation will be made by email or WhatsApp.

If the client wishes to transport backpacks for more than one stage, all dates and locations must be indicated at the time of booking.
Price

The price per stage starts at €6 per backpack, varying depending on the number of backpacks or stages.

Personalized rates may apply for direct deliveries (e.g., Porto–Santiago) or groups.
Client Responsibility

The client must confirm with both the origin and destination accommodations whether luggage pickup and delivery by third parties is permitted.

Some establishments may refuse to store luggage or may charge an additional fee — this responsibility lies with the client.

It is recommended that the client keep their backpack or luggage securely locked with a padlock throughout the transport process.

The client must also check the condition of their luggage upon delivery, reporting any visible damage or anomalies immediately.

Transporting high-value items (such as money, jewelry, electronics, important documents, etc.) is not recommended.
Permitted Luggage

Transport is limited to backpacks or suitcases weighing up to 20 kg.

Transport of dangerous, perishable, or illegal items is prohibited.
Changes and Cancellations

Cancellations must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance.

In case of route or date changes, the client should contact us as soon as possible.
Company Responsibility

Santiago Steps commits to providing services in a safe, punctual, and professional manner.

We are not responsible for damages caused by improper packing of luggage or loose items inside.
